A little hideaway on Pacific Coast Highway
For 37 years, Coral Beach Cantina was a small Mexican hideaway tucked along PCH — "a gem away from the crowds," as one regular put it. Generations of Malibu families, road-trippers driving the coast to Santa Barbara, and surfers fresh off Zuma Beach found their way to our shaded patio for cheese enchiladas, fish tacos, and a Cadillac margarita as the sun went down over the Pacific.
"Been going since I was a little kid — and still went every year for my birthday with my dad."
After the Woolsey Fire and a hard stretch for our community, we lost much of our clientele and were ultimately forced out of our home of nearly four decades. We served our last plates on June 30, 2019. To our guests, and to the team who became family — thank you. It was the honor of a lifetime.
This site stays online as a thank-you note: a wall of memories from the people who loved this place, and a hand pointing toward the wonderful local businesses still serving Malibu today.
